“I…uh…hired a typist.”

    His agent snorted over the phone. “You’re lying.”

    “No, really I did.” He and Leigh hadn’t exactly talked about payment, except for his brief mention of it at the haunted hike, but he certainly planned on compensating her for her time and help. Of course, he’d rather show her his gratitude in other ways, like taking her out on a real date, telling her how wonderful she was and helping to erase some of the pain in her past.

    “From what agency?” Clive still sounded suspicious.

    “No agency. She’s just a woman who lives here in Brookhollow, next door to the B and B.” It was such an understatement, Logan was almost embarrassed by the lie. But what could he tell Clive? That he was getting help from a woman he was falling in love with in the small town? Clive would for sure give up on him, thinking he’d lost his mind.

    “Not the same woman who pushed you off a ladder?”

    “Actually, yes.”

    Clive laughed. “Wow, way to call in the guilt favor.”

1. What is your favorite romance book and why?

Pride and Prejudice has always been my favorite because who doesn't love Mr. Darcy? Jane Austen created the perfect hero:) A new author I've just discovered though is Shannon Richard and her book Undone was fantastic-my favorite this month:)

2.  Do you have a specific time period you like to write about?

I write contemporary romance. I would love to write a historical, but I don't think I can write a heroine who doesn't use a flat iron. I have hair issues, so many of my heroines do as well. :)

3.  What brought you into the romance genre?

Reading Debbie Macomber. She is the ultimate romance story teller and I fell in love with her books at a very young age and I knew I didn't want to write anything else.

4. What is your favorite genre to read?

I love contemporary romances, but it seems I need to travel a lot in order to get any reading done. Deciding on a plane ride read is a major decision for me.

5. What Are Your Top Five Favorite Books To Read?

6. Who is your favorite character from your own books? Why?

Luke Dawson from The Trouble With Mistletoe, the first book in the Brookhollow Series has always been my favorite, no matter how many other heroes I write. He's perfect to me and when he makes appearances in other books, he still stops my heart lol:)

7.What has been your favorite story/book to write?

That's like choosing between your children lol. That's why I stopped at one (child);) I think The Trouble With Mistletoe was my favorite in that it was the most fun because it wasn't written under deadline. I had no idea if it would get published and I just wrote it in my spare time. But I think the best example of my writing is this Sept release-Falling for Leigh. I love this story.

But it was fast becoming much more interesting than expected...

How It Made Me Feel:

What a great, heartwarming and sweet story!  The storyline, plot, and scenery was absolutely wonderful and set up the book for wonderful and easy reading.  Logan, 'rewarded' for his help in trying to hang a sign, ends up with a broken wrist and only a few weeks for his novel to get to the publisher.  What a recipe for disaster!  Luckily for Logan, Leigh is there to help, albeit somewhat awkwardly and very slowly.  Their love story is one of mistakes, sweet encounters, and quiet moments, paired with the coming fall and an array of wonderfully thought out characters.  I loved reading this book and I can't wait to continue on in the series!  Leigh was an easy character to like right from the start.  Logan was not quite as agreeable, but I have to admit that he did, in fact, grow on me. 

What I Thought Worked:

I LOVED the setting in Brookhollow and the fall season.  It made it that much more real for me and I easily got lost in the pages.  The characters that lived in Brookhollow were so welcoming, true, and easy going, I felt like I was right back in a small town. 

What I Thought Didn't Work:

Every once in a while, I would get a bit confused, as if the story had either progressed rapidly, or I fell behind.  But I kept reading and it wasn't an issue that made me want to not finish it or dislike the book in anyway.

Why It Got That Rating:

I truely loved the book.  I didn't want it to end and I fell in love with Logan along with Leigh.  I loved their relationship and how they were with each other and I really loved the small town feel I experienced when reading it.  I would definitely recommend to someone.

Who Would I Recommend To:

I would recommend to someone who is used to small town living, someone who loves the slow and steady loves, or someone who is looking for a sweet romance.

Last Impressions/Remarks:

I loved the happy and satisfied feeling I had at the end of the book.  I definitely had emotional reactions throughout the book and I couldn't have wished for it to be any better.

“Oh, good. I was just on my way upstairs to find you. Do come in.”

Rosemary took a seat opposite her mother, who picked up the embroidery she had been working on. Rosemary took a moment to smooth her pale blue muslin dress and inhaled her mother’s subtle, comforting scent of lilacs before she brought her eyes up.

“Mother, I have a problem.”

Her mother glanced up from her needlework. “Well, if it’s a problem with one of your stories, I’m afraid I can’t help you. I don’t know where you get your ideas. Help yourself to some tea and a bit of Cook’s tangy lemon cake, why don’t you?”

Rosemary rose and poured herself a cup of tea, forgoing the cake. “Well, indirectly, it is about my stories.” She took a deep breath. “Mr. Page has retired and he’s sold the company to a Boston publisher.

Charlotte Fitzpatrick’s eyes locked on Rosemary’s. “Oh, dear.”
